Back from Hong Kong
I wouldnt say HK was a blast for me.
Cos well, i was with parents and there's nth much i can do or explore with THE parents around.
Anyways, I visited the Peak, that dearest Sulyn recommended to go.
Went to (literally) catch clouds while i took a VERY frightening cable car ride to the top of a 3800 metres-high mountain to see the Biggest Buddha statue in the world (yet).
The ride was so spine-chilling cos we were literally amidst the huge thick clouds that contained lots of wind, rain and vaccum.
The whole cable car was shaking almost uncontrollably and the rain water kept splashing in, so much so that i didnt even try to make the littlest movement in case the cable car would just plunge and land into some forest or sea.
It was terrible weather that day indeed.
The next day after the cable car incident, i heard from Dad that one of the cable cars leading to the biggest Buddha has made a plunge into the forest.
And up till now, that missing cable car has not been found.
Thankfully, there was no one in the cable car at that time.
The HK government has announced it's suspension after that incident.
I guess we were quite lucky that we got to see the Biggest Buddha before it's suspension and actually managed to survive the terrible turbulence while on our way there.
It was a hell of an experience with lots of thrill.
Personally, HK was mainly shopping and eating.
Yes, and i mean LOTS of shopping and eating.
I didnt really like the smell of the streets nor the smell of those small eateries.
Those small eateries has such weird foul smell that made me unable/difficult to get my food down my oesophagus.
Luckily it was only ONCE that i got to eat in a small eatery.
And that ONCE was more than enough to kill my appetite for the day.
Moreover, everything there is a lil overpriced including food.
What's worth my commendation is that their shops open till past midnight!
That's sth rare u can almost never find in sg.
So we shopped till our legs went wobbly and there's still SO much more to shop!
Also, there's their MTR trains that has signs so clear that lights up at every interchange to inform u about the route, if u alight and transfer to the nxt train.
They also have signs that tell u which direction the train is gg.
That technology is really a 2 thumbs up for visitors to the country.
It makes reading the MTR map so much easier.
On a heavier note, this trip actually made me more certain that i will NEVER go on a holiday trip with my mom again.
If so, i'll probably bring a friend along with me.
Im SO not gonna face her alone and her terrible, most horrid way of shopping.
Shall not elaborate. Too many things to tell.
And i'll prolly die of angst even before i begin to explain why i TOTALLY LOATHE shopping with her.
Looking forward to that au-peaceful Tioman trip.
=)
Piccas will be up soon after Daddy returns my digi cam.
